Hello!!! I'm AmyJ, Amy, Amy Jean, AJ, Amy Jean Johnson. . .
I answer to all of the above. My roots were formed in Nebraska, but Chicago has been my home for the last 17 years. After receiving my M.F.A. in Acting from the University of NE, Lincoln, my professional career began with performing one-woman, historical touring programs for children at school assemblies in Chicago and the suburbs.
I've had the privilege to work in regional and local theatre, film, television, web, improv, voice-over and audiobook narration. I also took a semi-hiatus from acting for about 5 years to study ASL and interpreting. Eventually I returned to my original passion/addiction. Chicago has not only given me the ability to explore all aspects of acting, but my constant search for what feeds me as a human.
A man who works with his hands is a laborer; a man who works with his hands and his brain is a craftsman; but a man who works with his hands and his brain and his heart is an artist.
